She spent years serving the nation in uniform. Then she turned her attention to the most intimate battlefield of all — marriage.
Major (Dr.) Navjeet P Kaur (Retd.) has lived multiple lives in one. Indian Army officer. PhD scholar in Psychology and Management. Counsellor, life coach, NLP practitioner, and now — author. Her debut book The Anatomy of 7 Vows was launched to an audience at Punjab Kala Bhawan in the presence of celebrated Punjabi actor and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi Ji. It is now available internationally across Amazon, Flipkart, and Google Play Books.
But the book did not begin on a stage. It began in a counsellor's room — with couples who loved each other and could not understand why that wasn't enough.

The Problem She Kept Seeing
Year after year, sitting across from couples in her counselling practice, Dr. Navjeet noticed something that troubled her. These were not people without love. Love was there — often clearly, sometimes desperately. What was missing was something older. Something that had been recited at every Hindu wedding for centuries and then largely forgotten by morning.
The seven vows.
Not as ritual. Not as Sanskrit recitation. But as living, breathing principles that, if genuinely understood and embodied, could change the entire architecture of a relationship. The question she kept asking herself was: what if couples actually knew what they had promised each other?
A Unique Perspective — Science, Service, and Spirit
What makes Dr. Navjeet's approach unlike most relationship books on the market is the lived experience behind it. She is not a theorist. She is someone who has commanded soldiers, studied human psychology at doctoral level, counselled individuals and families through trauma, grief, and crisis, and spent years working at the intersection of science and spirituality.
The army teaches you to act under pressure, to hold the line when everything around you is uncertain. The counselling room teaches you something quieter — that the most important battles are the ones fought inside a person, and inside a partnership. She brought both of those worlds to the page.
"I wanted to revisit these vows not as rituals, but as living principles that guide a couple's emotional, spiritual, and psychological harmony. The Anatomy of 7 Vows is my heartfelt attempt to help couples reconnect with the essence of their union."

The Book — What It Actually Does
The Anatomy of 7 Vows is not a self-help book in the conventional sense. It does not offer quick fixes or listicles of relationship hacks. It does something slower and more demanding — it asks couples to actually understand what they promised.
Each of the seven chapters takes one vow — its Vedic origin, its emotional architecture, the specific ways it is broken or neglected in modern relationships, and what it looks like when it is genuinely lived. Dr. Navjeet draws from her counselling experience to bring real-life stories into each chapter, making abstract principles immediately recognisable.
📖
7 Deep Chapters One chapter per vow — ancient meaning, modern reality, emotional depth🧠
Compatibility Analysis Questionnaire A practical self-reflection tool for couples to assess their partnership honestly💑
Real Stories Drawn from Dr. Navjeet's counselling experience — recognisable, honest, grounded🔮
Vedic Wisdom + Modern Psychology Ancient principles made immediately applicable to contemporary relationshipsThe book is written for couples at every stage — those about to marry who want to understand what they are committing to, those already married who feel something has quietly drifted, and those who simply want to think more deeply about what love and commitment actually require of a person.
The Launch — Punjab Kala Bhawan and Gurpreet Ghuggi Ji
The book was launched at Punjab Kala Bhawan — a cultural institution in Punjab — in the presence of Gurpreet Ghuggi Ji, one of Punjabi cinema's most beloved and respected figures. It was a fitting setting for a book that draws deeply on Punjabi cultural roots while speaking to universal human experiences.
The presence of Ghuggi Ji — known for his warmth, humour, and deep connection to the Punjabi community — added both weight and warmth to the occasion. It was a reminder that a book about the vows that bind families is also, in the deepest sense, a community offering.
